| Its
easy to see why Winter Garden is called
the
"Land
of Pleasant Living."
On
any given day a stroll down Plant Street
will uncover a slice of small-town life
at its best. In the heart of the downtown,
one can see the successful efforts of
real estate redevelopment - quaint stores,
restaurants, and the West Orange
Trail all enhance the charm and quality
of life of this small West Orange County
community. Consisting of approximately
12.1 square miles |
 |
|
and a population of 14,351 (2000,) Winter
Garden, Orange County, is well on its
way to becoming a premier Florida community
with architecture from charming condos
to luxury estate homes.. Contact

Once renowned for its vast citrus industries,
Winter Garden is slowly beginning to attract
other businesses, including computer and
investment companies. High-tech industries,
seeking the convenience of Orlando
without the traffic headaches, are beginning
to take another look at city real estate..
Close to the Orlando International Airport,
with railroad service to the heart of
downtown, and easy access to Highway 50,
the East West Expressway, and the Florida
Turnpike, Winter Garden can accommodate
the needs of almost any business. The
city currently boasts two large manufacturers
and service industries. |
 |
Despite
the growth and plans for diversification,
the citrus industry is still important
to Winter Garden. Companies such as
Roper Growers Cooperative, Heller Brothers
Packing, and Winter Garden Citrus Products
employ hundreds of people in the packing
and juice industries. |
| When
not working, residents enjoy a wonderful
quality of life. On the weekend, enjoy
a walk or bike ride down the West Orange
Trail. This is a landmark project that
converted old railroad track beds into
miles of trails for people to enjoy the
natural beauty of West Orange and stay
fit at the same time. The city also has
real estate set aside as two large parks,
one on Lake Apopka with the public boat
ramp, playground
and picnic areas, and three recreational
complexes for your children to enjoy little
league baseball, football, softball, tennis
and swimming. For a more relaxing weekend,
you may opt to read a book at the local
library or paddle a boat in one of four
lakes that border Winter Garden. |
 |
The city has been expanding rapidly and
current estimates put its population at
21,000 by the year 2010. In order to keep
up with the explosive growth, many new
middle and high income real estate housing
projects are in progress, |
from
charming condos, villas and townhouses
to luxury homes. Central Florida Realtors

And redevelopment
is on a roll: Stafford is hard at work
with the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation
to renovate the historic Garden Theater
on Plant Street. The old movie house,
which will become a 300-seat performing
arts center, is set to reopen in 2005.
|
 |
The City will house a
brand new Americana themed 38,000-acre master-planned
development called "Horizons West",
which will be filled with traditional neighborhoods,
schools, recreation facilities, shopping,
entertainment, and quick & easy access
to the area theme parks and highways.
Some the exciting new communities located
in Winter Garden are Independence, Summerport,
Stoneybrook, and Isle of Lake Hancock.
Health care is certainly no problem either.
Winter Garden is part of the West Orange
Healthcare District that boasts an ultra
modern hospital - Health Central, plus
a 228 bed nursing home, and many area
specialists to serve your needs. Nearby,
one can find an emergency medical clinic
and three private nursing homes.

no secret that West Orange County has some of
the best schools in the state of Florida. Twelve
elementary schools, three middle schools, and
three high schools serve the West Orange community.

Technical Center, a state-of-the-art vocational
training institute. Or, one can continue their
education at one of several nearby colleges and
universities that serve Central Florida, including
