Lake County lives up to its name with more than 1,400 lakes covering over 200 square miles located within its 1,200 square-miles of real estate. In addition to its well-deserved reputation as a water sports mecca, the County has the charm of a southern country destination with a perfect blend of nature and outdoor recreation.

Lake County is geographically located in the center of Florida real estate; is 90 miles in length; and bordered by Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Sumter, Volusia and Marion Counties. As part of the Central Highlands, the County has a relatively high elevation of about 50 feet to 190 feet above sea level. It's is one of only a few destinations in Florida with rolling hills to climb, offering challenging golf, hiking and bicycling on Sugarloaf and Buck Hill.

Central Florida Realtors John Hambrick and Angela Chapman can help you find your dream home here or in any of the surrounding communities.  Or they can help you sell your Lake County home.  They know how to bring buyers and sellers together.

Lake County has its southernmost tip just miles from the real estate of Walt Disney World, Disney-MGM Studios and Epcot, and 16 miles from Sea World and Universal Studios and its northwest tip borders the Ocala National Forest.

It is a part of the Orlando Metropolitan Statistical Area, one of the fastest growing regions in the nation. Bureau of the Census 2000 statistics indicate the population is 210,528, an increase of 38% since 1990.

The unincorporated population crossed the 100,000-person threshold during the 1990s and is now at 120,000. Two unincorporated areas, Citrus Ridge and Mount Plymouth-Sorrento, now rank in a top ten list of urbanized places.

Located in the countryside of Orlando, Lake County’s small towns are made up primarily of generation upon generation of native-born Floridians. Locals work hard to preserve the County’s natural resources and beauty. Family values, civic pride and streets lined with old oaks and historic clapboard houses give Lake County a "hometown America" feeling. Towns include: Altoona, Astatula, Astor, Clermont, Eustis, Fruitland Park, Groveland, Howey-In-The-Hills, Lady Lake, Leesburg, Mascotte, Minneola, Montverde, Mount Dora, Paisley, Sorrento, Tavares and Umatilla.

Another reason Lake County is ideal for residents is due to its year-round mild climate. The average monthly temperature in the winter is 75 degrees Fahrenheit and in the summer, 90 degree Fahrenheit. The average annual rainfall is 50 inches, occurring primarily in the summer months.

Bustling Orlando International Airport is less than an hour away. The Sanford Orlando Airport is also within close proximity to Lake County via S.R. 46.
